Queens without kingdoms and priestesses without gods are the women in Tiffany Rankin’s world. They are women of myth, legend, superstitions, folklore, and common gossip. Each image transmits a sense of reflection and solitude, while questioning identity created through these tales. Her work strives to understand how myth has produced women’s roles in society. Growing up in San Antonio, Texas Tiffany showed a passion for art from an early age. While studying as a Graphic Design her style shifted from Impressionistic to Contemporary Realism. Rankin enjoys incorporating the medium acrylic and ink to achieve the technique of exaggerated realism. She currently resides in Round Rock, Texas.
